Citizens recognizing the over-crowded conditions at the Vine Street School, voted the funds to build this building – the Westerville High School which was dedicated in November of 1923.

Built in a classical revival style with a symmetrical plan, it contained a gymnasium, an auditorium and classrooms for both junior and senior high students.

This was the town’s high school until 1960 when a new larger building opened on Otterbein Ave. – today’s Westerville South High School.
